Before I get to all the ingredients and instructions I just wanted to say that it took me several times of experimenting to get this recipe to be all that I knew it could be. I'm very picky about baked goods. I will absolutely not buy anything like this from a grocery store's bakery. So here it is, the most addictive banana bread ever!
The Most Addictive Banana Bread Ever
Prep: 20 minutes Cook: 1 hour Servings: 12-16
Ingredients:
2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 sticks of real butter (not margarine)
2 cups of mashed bananas (semi-ripe or extremely ripe it works regardless)
4 eggs (beaten)
2 cups white sugar
1 cup of chopped pecans
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour the two 9x5 inch loaf pans (the metal ones if possible).
Sift together the flour, salt, and baking soda into a large bowl. In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together, then mix in the already beaten eggs. With a spoon stir in the bananas, and pecans until mixed well.
Now pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir well. After it is mixed, divide the batter evenly between the two pans. (Baker's Note: The batter at its raw state does not taste good.)
Bake for approx. 1 hour, this specific recipe does make the bread appear dark, so please do not take it out early because of it looking dark brown. Use a toothpick inserted to check up on it if need be. The toothpick will come out clean if it is done.
Remove from the oven and place them upside down on a cooling wire rack carefully, the bread will slide out of the bread pan onto the rack. Allow to cool on the rack for a little while. While still slightly warm wrap both loaves in aluminum foil and refrigerate at least 2 hours prior to ensure ultimate enjoyment.
As always, if you try this recipe please eave a comment below and let us know how it went!
